A friend of mine phoned me and asked if he needs to pay $1,500 to start working on the internet. I told him you don’t have to pay anything to start working on the internet.
That is the short answer. Then I explained him about different ways of making money online that I know.
I write this post because somebody might phone you or your friend might approach you to ask if you want to join the program.
I don’t care how the system work and I am not interested to dig into details. I am happy to see if people could benefit from the system.
But to me this is not the right way of making money online. I will explain why.
I wrote a blog post few months ago about similar case. If you not yet read, you can read it here: Don’t Think It’s Easy To Make Money Online… Read This First!
Think again! Why you want to start working on the internet?
I believe the main purpose of working on the internet is to work for yourself. Be your own boss. You don’t want to work for somebody else anymore. You want to create value and earn a living from your own work.
At the end of the day, you want to have full control in what you are doing.
If you decide to join the program, you work for the program. You can’t control the program. You need to do something the system ask you to do so that you can get your money back.
It’s exactly like you work for someone.
Internet opens a lot of job opportunities
To get start working on the internet, the best way is to become a freelancer. You can start a blog and make money from it. But this roadmap will demand a lot of patience. You will need wait and work hard everyday make it success.
Most of the solopreneur seems to agree that freelancing is a good start option.
My suggestion is that you can start take some freelancing jobs and at the same time build your first blog from scratch.
There are many mores job listing sites. I know few Cambodian who make their living as freelancers. If you have any question, post it in the comment session. If I can’t answer, I will invite them to help to answer.
I don’t get involved much in those freelancing since I don’t have much knowledge or expertise to reply to those demands.
Later when you make yourself known as a freelancer, you can later become a virtual assistant. The labor cost in the developed countries is expensive. Some business owners prefer to hire people from developing countries. They pay less but get the same result. They don’t have to own an office for employees. They could work for them from anywhere in the world.
To give you an example, read Nica’s blog. She is a virtual assistant who work from her home in Philippines.
When people can reach you directly, you will get higher rate and no need to pay commission to anybody.
Chris Ducker built his entire company by just helping people to find the right virtual assistant in Philippines.
There are many different ways of making money online. It really depends on your passion, dream and expertise.
Sophy also shared few tips in Khmer on how to money on the internet. I like his latest sentence that he stated “We can actually make money while we sleep”.
Today, this dream starts to become true to me and few Cambodian Internet Marketers. It’s really nice when you wake up, you see you already made a few dollars.
I hope this post will make you think again before you join any program or network. Build your platform. Deliver values to your clients. The money will come!
